Helfa Gelf
Helfa Gelf is an open studios event which showcases the work of artists and craft practitioners across Conwy, Denbighshire and Flintshire. It’s an opportunity for visitors to see artists at work in their studios, to discuss their creative process, and buy directly from them.
The open studios project attracts visitors to rural areas and engages those who are socially isolated through networking opportunities.
Participants come from a broad range of disciplines including painting and sculpture, printmaking, ceramics, jewellery-making, basket weaving, woodcarving and photography.
Helfa Gelf offers participating artists free professional development support and master classes, and, in addition to the open studio event, holds exhibitions across North Wales throughout the year.
It is hoped that, through new partnerships, Helfa Gelf will continue to be an annual highlight on the North Wales events calendar, while dramatically enhancing the arts and the arts market within rural Conwy.
