Branch Lines
What is Branch Lines?
This 12 week development programme – aimed at those who are isolated, socially excluded or disadvantaged – is designed to encourage volunteer participants to gain skills, qualifications and a solid work ethic.
With the support and assistance of mentors, volunteers benefit from experiential learning activities in areas such as horticulture, conservation and traditional skills training. Activities vary depending on need, and are intended to give volunteers the opportunity to enhance their environment, to increase their sense of ownership and to develop an understanding of the community in which they live.
The programme aims to develop healthy partnerships – linking education, training and community – thereby providing a sustainable resource, and it is hoped that this project will help create new economic, social and environmental opportunities within Conwy’s rural communities.
