About the service
Conwy Community Translation Service provides affordable written and simultaneous translation and proofreading services to the community and voluntary sectors within rural Conwy. The service also delivers training and skills enhancement to enable community and voluntary groups to undertake translation work themselves.
Currently, 60-70% of Conwy Community Translation’s work is carried out within the voluntary and community sectors, for which a lower rate is charged – making it difficult for the service to generate enough capital to support its 3 full-time translator posts. With the help of Conwy’s Rural Development Plan, the service aims to create two new full-time translator posts in order to meet high demands within rural Conwy.
