Conwy Biodiversity and Landscape Grant Scheme

About the Conwy Biodiversity and Landscape Grant Scheme

This scheme is designed to offer farmers and landowners financial support for projects which help to preserve traditional features and wildlife habitats within rural Conwy.

Grants are offered for landscape conversation, management and restoration projects – which might include things like: planting native trees and removing alien or invasive species, restoring riparian habitats (those found near rivers and lakes), restoring traditional boundaries (such as dry stone walls, dykes or hedges), and managing one of the habitats listed in the Conwy or UK Biodiversity Action Plan.

Applicants must own or legally manage the land, and may have to wait for up to two years for grant aid due to the large number of existing applications. Projects on farms covered by Tir Gofal and those on land within the Snowdonia National Park are not eligible for the Conwy Biodiversity and Landscape Grant Scheme.
