Bilingual Rural Business Development Training
About the project
This project is designed to deliver needs-based bilingual training to Conwy’s rural communities. Working closely with Menter Iaith Conwy – together with community groups, businesses and other initiatives – the project aims to enhance the bilingual capacity of rural businesses, and to help public, private and voluntary sectors find trained bilingual staff.
The project is designed to enhance skills, and address issues of low pay and diversification within rural Conwy. It will enable learners to improve their Welsh language skills, to develop their understanding and awareness of Welsh culture and history, and to enhance their knowledge and confidence generally. The project promotes entrepreneurship, and will enable learners to become effective employees, to set up their own businesses – or to sign up with Menter Iaith Conwy’s bilingual administrative staff temp agency which is currently under development.
Assessment and advice (plus guidance on gaining employment and/or future careers) will be offered throughout the training, which will feature subjects including: accounts and financial literacy, administration skills, business planning and development, e-business, employment law, health and safety, ICT and IT, marketing, and web design.
