Rural Mentoring Provision

What is Rural Mentoring Provision?

This project provides an opportunity to jointly market rural village halls and community centres, by offering a mentoring service to the committees charged with their care.

An analysis will be carried out to look at committee skills needs – as well as to identify required maintenance and building work. The resulting programme, centred around and co-ordinated by the Rural Development Centre, will enable community groups to access advice and information, to share ideas and best practice – and create a sustainable future for their community’s resources.

A centralised booking system will be created – co-ordinated by the Rural Development Centre – in order to promote facilities and maximise efficient use of village halls, community centres and other community resources.

The aim of this project is to promote diversification and sustainability within the rural economy, to raise the profile of the rural Development Centre, and to encourage community groups and individuals to work together.
