About Young Farmers Conwy
Young Farmers Conwy is the Conwy branch of Young Farmers, a voluntary youth organisation which represents not only young farmers, but all young people living in rural areas across Wales, between the ages of 10 and 26.
Most Young Farmers clubs meet each week, with events and activities taking place throughout the year across the whole of Wales. The two main events on the calendar are the Wales Young Farmers Eisteddfod and the Annual Rally, with other activities and competitions covering a variety of areas including equestrian events, cookery, tug of war, pantomime and disco dancing.
Since December 2008, an area leader has been in post to provide support to five Young Farmers clubs in rural Conwy – at Betws yn Rhos, Llansannan, Llannefydd, Uwchaled and Pentrefoelas. The purpose of this post is to oversee the running of these clubs and to continue the work of Young Farmers Conwy in bringing together young people in rural areas – enabling them to socialise, gain rural skills, and above all have fun!
