Development and Promotion of the Evening Economy
This project is designed to develop the evening economy of rural Conwy, by creating a programme of cultural events – such as music, poetry and storytelling – in pubs, hotels and other venues.
Events will take place during the evening within the autumn, winter and spring months of each year – outside of the peak tourist season. The project aims to create additional sources of income for rural communities and their performers, venues and promoters – in addition to the dominant outdoor activities industry on which Conwy is so reliant.
The programme of events is designed to promote the Welsh language and the area’s unique culture, and will be aimed at local people and visitors. It is designed to complement Conwy’s well-established daytime economy and ensure that the area has plenty to offer to both its day and evening visitors.
