Rural Conwy Mountain Biking Study
What is the Rural Conwy Mountain Biking Study?
This feasibility study looks at ways in which communities around Llanrwst and Penmachno can benefit from the development of mountain biking routes and services in their area. It looks at the need for sustainable tourism in rural Conwy, and considers enhancing existing links to other areas.
The study considers ways to enhance existing tourist products and services, and to take advantage of new opportunities – such as encouraging the development of specialist niche markets within the outdoor sector – in order to develop an exciting and memorable visitor experience.
Specifically, the project will look at the benefits and pitfalls of Llanrwst becoming a Mountain Biking Gateway. It will look at linking up with other areas and routes, including the Penmachno Bike Trail, the Marin Trail, the Community Based Purposeful Routes project, the Hiraethog area, and Coed Llandegla. The study will also look at creating a recognisable brand unique to the Upper Conwy Valley.
