Axis 4 Local Action Group…
The Local Action Group (LAG) is the element which delivers Axis 4 of the of Rural Development Programme. The aim of LAG is to diversify the economic base of rural Conwy, the development and promotion of rural products and culture, and to deliver social and community regeneration.
The LAG delivered projects to the value of over £1.7million under the first business plan period 2008-2011, and currently has a project valued at over £2.2million in the second business plan period 2011-2013. The LAG’s duty is to oversee the programme, making sure it achieves all the principles and objectives that were laid down in the development plan.
The LAG will monitor and manage the delivery of the project and consider proposals from the community and their eligibility under the Rural Development Plan. It will also monitor the lead body’s tasks and ensure that project delivery is done with regard to regulations.
The LAG also has the opportunity to lead or be involved in co-operation projects with neighbouring counties or further afield across Europe.
